Chollier’s Ape is an unknown primate, reported from South-eastern Mali near the Burkina Faso border. Size of a man. Dense black hair. In 1938, Louis Chollier was on safari south of Tiou Tiou, Mali, when his party came across a huge, black animal with long hair that looked like a bear or an ape. It disappeared into the rocks before they could pursue it.
Possible explanation[]
- An escaped Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) or a remnant population of chimps left over from the species’ former range.
